CALIFORNIA CLASSIC BY Jason Cruz (California)
ISLAND TROPIC by Laihha Organna (Hawaii)
I am a professional doodler, below average surfer, nature lover and coffee slugger. I live in Haiku, on the shore of Maui and spend my days drawing, painting, working on my business, surfing, and building out my art studio bus. I get especially stoked working on anything related to: surf, skate, snowboard culture, beer, coffee, sustainability, the outdoors and tropical vibes, but make it a little punk rock.
-Mahalo for being here on my journey.
RAISED BY SUMMER by Jovi Cauwels (Belgium)
Back in 2019, I decided to follow my passion for drawing and surfing. I started a graphic design course after my working hours as a social-cultural worker. At the same time, I started Raised By Summer, my very own ocean-inspired passion project. Today I can call myself a freelance illustrator, graphic designer, and muralist who is currently living between different surf spots.
I believe that I can only become true to myself when I follow my passion and purpose. For years I tried to live the standard expectations of society and it’s just not working for me. I feel there is more to discover in myself and the world. I only want to settle for a life that is fully aligned with how I feel inside. It's far from the easiest road, but one worth traveling.
ULUWATU by Raul Casado (Majorca)
Illustrator and graphic designer based in Majorca. I am in love with the sea, the waves and nature, colorful designs, and looking for sunsets and sunrises to be able to immerse ourselves in the Mediterranean.
HAMMERHEADS by Loreto Vila (Spain)
I am an artist and marine biologist from Spain and most of my happiest memories have been underwater. I love everything about the Ocean world: the fish, the corals and how the sunrays shimmer through the surface. It is like going to a different world! Unfortunately, this world is in danger.
My meticulously detailed ink drawings explore the ocean biodiversity and beauty. Through my art I hope to convey the beauty and wonders of the ocean, as well as to raise awareness of the urgent need to protect it. I attempt to recreate the richness of the underwater world through ink and paper, using a dotwork technique inspired by the tattoo world. Sometimes I add geometric shapes to my designs in order to create movement and harmony, because in the Ocean everything is constantly moving and shifting.
